A Project?! Who's Got Time for Projects?

A Christmas Card Frame project to be specific.

While I don't necessarily have time for a project (which is probably why it took me a couple of weeks to actually make this happen after I saw it in a Pottery Barn magazine), I really liked the idea and was not about to pay $149 for it.

Want to do one of your own? It's super simple!

I...

-Went to the thrift store and bought a frame that was the size I wanted, expecting to spray paint it. I paid less than $5 for the frame. Some would say I still overpaid...

-Used these tools.

In order of appearance, scissors, tiny wooden clothespins (found at Walmart), a staple gun, and beading wire (also found at Walmart, or any craft store).

-Took the sweet mat and print, along with the glass, out of the frame. Anybody interested in that? Anybody, anybody? Ha.

- Used beading wire and a staple gun to make 5 rows on which to hang Christmas cards. (I made the top row pretty close to the frame since I'm hanging each card from it's top side).

- Finished off the wire rows by looping the wire around the last staple. (Actually this is how I started also).

And here is the finished project. Well it's not exactly finished because we're still getting cards!

(Oh, I decided not to spray paint it because I thought the gold was pretty festive. Also, Bob's vote was not to spray paint).

I love getting Christmas cards and sending them too! If you don't get one from us and would like one, feel free to email me your mailing address. And if you are just dying to send us one to be so beautifully displayed on my new Christmas Card Frame, we'd love to receive it!

Holla-atcha Boy. I'm Out, Mom.

I wish I could tell you this was Sam's first attempt at running away. Packing up his own bag in a huff, and heading down the road much like his dad may, or may not have done, around the tender age of 4. However, this was an arranged vacating of the house. This is just Sam headed to the grandparents' for the evening.

Merry Christmas - From Us to You

"Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13

I'm linked up at a Christmas Card Carousel. What a great idea!

Christmas Cards, Get Your Christmas Cards

I'm designing and selling Christmas cards again this year! I had such a good time with it last year, it only seemed fitting. If you've got the perfect family picture, or couple of pictures, but need a little help with the card, click here. I've got lots of options. You can order your cards and have me design, print and ship them to you (that includes envelopes with your return address printed on them) or you can purchase a digital file. If you go the digital file route, you just need to email me your picture(s), I assemble the card and email it to you so you can get it printed at your convenience and wherever you want!

Here's our card from last year...

My friend, Ashley, and I have this joint venture...we call it, Shoot & Send. She does a photo shoot, and I design and print the cards. All you do is look cool in the shots, then sit back and wait for your cards to come in. Easy, right? If you are interested, let me know so we can book a shoot for you. (Email me through my profile page...go to the bottom of the right column, or just leave a comment letting me know).
