No, I Did Not Quit My Blog
This post is specifically for my wonderful husband who, a couple days ago, asked me if I had quit my blog.
Two weekends ago, Bob and I went away...for 3 nights. Without the kids. It was great.
Obviously we missed them but we really, really enjoyed being alone and free of responsbility. Plus, the kids were home having a blast with the grandparents.

5 Months
5 months, Grey. 5 months. It sure doesn't seem that long ago that we first met you. It's hard to remember life without you.
You continue to live a sweet, content, observant little life. We just started moving towards 2 naps a day, and while you're definitely not there yet (you still take a little nap after lunch and usually a little one at night before your last feeding), you are doing awesome! Your naps are getting longer and you're sleeping longer at night.
We are really looking forward to you sitting up and getting mobile. Although, I must warn you, think you're sitting up will make you more of a target for Sam to knock over. Just go on and get used to it.

Sleep is for the Birds
I decided I'm suffering from a little sleep deprivation this morning after I got (ashamedly) extremely frustrated with Sam and was sitting on the floor crying...all before 9:30 a.m.
I know what you're thinking.
Just wait until the baby comes! What are you going to do then?!
You think you're sleep deprived now? Ha!
However, I slept better after Sam was born than I did the 2 months or so leading up to his arrival. It's all about discomfort and needing to go to the bathroom at this point. Really it's all about discomfort because if I didn't wake up 7-8 times and roll over, I probably wouldn't notice that I think I might have to go to the bathroom, a little.
Once the babe is here, and the big belly is gone, I know I'll be much more comfortable. Yes, I'll be getting up multiple times to feed but I'll hopefully be able to sleep for stretches longer than 1 .5 - 2 hours. Hopefully.

A Few Things I'm Missing
And please do not take this to mean that I'm not grateful for being pregnant. I'm just getting to that point where you can't not feel pregnant.
So here are a few things I'm missing:
- Sleeping on my stomach.
- Hugging my husband without having to push my rear out.
- Wine.
- Running...not that I was a big runner before I got pregnant. I just have a desire to now and it's probably because I can't.
- Bending over without making a sound.
- Holding Sam in my lap comfortably.
- Sleeping all the way through the night. (But I'll be missing that for at LEAST a few more months).
- The scale staying the same number for more than a week.
- Going up the stairs without getting winded. (Don't laugh.)
What about you? What do you/did you/will you miss while being pregnant?

Just Some Thoughts
I was trying to take a nap yesterday. After about 10 minutes, I woke up to the phone ringing. I couldn't go back to sleep because I couldn't stop thinking about eating a peanut butter & jelly sandwich. Sad.
I had a delicious veggie sub for lunch today. I'm sitting here contemplating making another one.
I'm not a vegetarian.
The first three thoughts are about food and I'm holding back.
I just got some really cute burp cloths off Etsy. (These aren't the exact ones I got. The beauty of this store is that you can just pick and choose which fabrics you want. I got some for gifts a couple for myself!)
I can't wait for May. With it comes my birthday, Mother's day, a camping trip, our family beach trip, and the wedding of some really good friends! Oh, and my blood glucose test. How could I forget that?!
I'm in a phase of pregnancy where I'm not sleeping well. Although I'm usually awake and back to sleep before this once or twice, something happens around 3:30 a.m. that wakes me up every morning. Maybe it's just that I have to go to the bathroom....
I lost a small diamond from my wedding band. My rings, since they're saudered together, are at the jeweler for the diamond to be replaced. Now I'm paranoid that everyone thinks I'm a single, pregnant mom of a toddler.
It won't be just Bob, me and Sam much longer. That makes me a little sad. That, obviously, means it won't just be Sam and me hanging out during the day much longer. That's gonna end real soon and it just makes me kinda sad.

Picture This...
Today was one of those Sundays that is just how I think Sundays should be.
Sam took a real long nap which means I got one too.

Bob and Sam are getting in some quality outside play time.
And the weather is great. There's a light breeze (so we have the windows open), the temperature is comfortable, and things just feel slow and laid back.

Crystal Gel
I went in to get Sam this morning.
He apparently had an excessive amount to drink last night.
His diaper was so wet it had come apart. I'm talking...the gel stuff that's normally inside was all over his leg.
I guess that's one of the downsides of being a good sleeper.

We Have a Little Secret
Just about every night, Bob or I will go get Sam and bring him in our room....to cuddle. He's not really cuddly during the day (unless he's sick or REALLY tired) so really, he kind of forced our hand.
Annnnd, sometimes he wakes up. That's right, we get our kid up after he's fallen asleep knowing that he may very well wake up. But he goes right back down! It's incredible. Maybe it's a trade-off for him not being cuddly, you know, while he's conscious.

Is it the Rain?
Sam is a great sleeper.
There, I said it.
Sometimes I hesistate to talk about it or I'm tempted to apologize to moms whose children have other skillz. But I don't expect them to apologize for their child's expanding vocab, desire to snuggle, ability to wave bye-bye or blow kisses so I won't either!
I do have to comment on today...it's weird. Sam slept about an hour later this morning than normal. Because of that, he didn't take a morning nap. I had a dentist appointment so he stayed with a neighborhood friend and played with her daughter who just turned 1. (Apparently we need to get him a Cozy Coupe b/c he lurved her's).
Anyway, he was a tad overtired since I picked him up around 1:30...this is when he normally goes down for an afternoon nap. He settled down in the car on the short ride home (under 2 minutes). He has now been asleep for over 2 1/2 hours. Rarely do we encounter a nap of this length.
Days like today are great but they just beg the question, "what was different?" Is it the rain? Is he having a growth spurt? Was it the fact that I gave him some of what we ate for dinner last night? Bruschetta Chicken Bake
To those questions, I answer, it MUST be the rain since I've had the overwhelming desire to take a nap all day too.
