Maintenance

My apologies for the lack of posting recently...well the lack of posting with word content and not just pictures.
But guess what? Life is busy with two kids. Can I get an amen?
I'm sure all the moms with more than two are thinking, "Ha....two?! Two was cake. Just wait until there's another one, or two more, or three more!" (And no, we are NOT planning on having 5 kids).

Anyway, life is pretty full right now. I really feel like I'm just maintaining both kids. There's not a lot of quality interaction in my book. Getting them up, clean, fed, keeping Sam's fingers out of Grey's eyes. It's a lot to keep track of!

My day doesn't really get started until about 10. That's about the time I finally get a shower and feel like I could get out of the house. Both kids are fed and there's somewhat of a lull.

I was just telling a friend today that I thought I didn't have much "me time" when it was just Sam. Oh, let me tell you...there was plenty of "me time". "Me time" now? Well it basically doesn't exist. I know it will get better. I know they won't be this small forever, really for long at all. I know I should cherish it - and believe me, I'm trying. But sometimes, I just want a break from the responsibility. Anybody with me? No? Ok.

So, here's a little smidge of what's been going on recently...in the form of "Overheard in Our House".

I'm copying Lauren here.

Following this performance,

the following exchange was made.

Bob: Sometimes I do that kinda stuff when I get out of the shower in the morning...
Me: (glancing over and giggling)
Bob: You don't believe me?
Me: Seriously?
Bob: ....No

Sam: Baby Grey...crynin'.
Me: Yes Sam, Baby Grey IS crynin'.

Sam: Baby Grey...crynin'.
Me: Nope, that's you whining buddy.

Sam: Ehhhhh, waaaaaa, whiney, whine, whine, whine.
Grey: Waaaaa,waaaaa, waaaaa.
Me: AHHH!

I'm SO with you on occasionally wanting a break from the responsibility! Sometimes I look around my house and think, "Man, someone needs to clean this mess up and do some laundry or something."

And you're right - it does get better. Although as you can see, I haven't blogged in over 2 weeks. :)

LOL! Mom and I just watched the video multiple times deciding which parts we could really see Bob doing after his morning shower. Hilarious!

it's hard. it really is. i had two little boys once. now they are almost 9 and 7. it's SO much easier now. i always took comfort when people would validate that indeed YES, the baby/toddler years are exhausting.

enjoy what you can:
sweet baby smells
naps
new words
baby coos
toothless smiles
and so much more!!!

I was so encouraged by how "with it" you seemed last week. I think it took me two months with just Vale to get out of the house by ten. You're rockin the mom of two role...even if it doesn't always feel like it.

I hope that you get a little me time today and that it's restful.

Let's hang out soon...

I'm so with you! It does get better, but I said that same thing about "me" time!! It's so true!!!! Anyways, my kids go to bed at the same time now, so I do get at least that time to myself so something you can look forward to!

soooo, right there with you!! boy are we in a rut around here. fun mom has officially left the building, and the person that is left is more like chef/house keeper/nanny/grouch.

and my favorite is when lucy is screaming in one ear and charlotte is repeating, "lucy crying mommeeee! lucy cryiiiiiing!" over and over in the other ear. yeah, charlotte. i can hear her.

let's hang soon.

Amen about no down time! Hence the dearth of blogging on my part. I still feel like my day doesn't really get started until around 10. Let me know if you figure out how to move that time up!
