Seacrest Beach 2012 (Part 2)

And now we move on to the actual beach.
This year was a lot different at the pool and at the beach. Sam can pretty much swim and is a huge fan of the water. Grey is much more comfortable in the water and has spurts of independence. And Bo, Bo doesn’t want to be in the water all that much and is content to wander around, occasionally jump in, and cling to you when he is actually in the water. All in all, they were much more manageable and fun than last year.
This guy went to the beach for a day last year, but he wasn’t even a year old. This year, he loved it, ate some sand, but steered pretty clear of the water.

And we’ve spotted a helicopter!

Grey loved the beach, playing with his bucket, and jumping waves/being lifted over them. Also, he has a bit of a mullet when his hair is wet, but awesome curls when it’s dry. (Mullet partially pictured here).

Sam absolutely loved everything about the beach. He loved the water, he loved the sand, he loved digging, and he loved burying Bob. Well honestly, they all enjoyed burying him…

Speaking of which, what a fun dad. No way would I have let them bury me, but he did, and it was his idea. He was also in charge of building sandcastles.

Between the fact that moms are rarely in pictures AND I’m ginormous and pretty picky on what I actually want photographed, I ended up self-shooting here. At least you can see I was there.

SAM_6344 My sister, Laura, was a part of this beach trip and it was so fun having her around. We’re all big fans and the boys really loved spending some quality time with Ya-Ya.

And of course, Mom and Dad were there. In fact, Mom and Dad made the trip possible. Thank you guys! We look forward to this beach trip every time we get to go. We all love getting so much quality time with the fam!mom on beachSAM_6419
Discussing the plans for the day, or politics. Which one was it, Dad?

J, we missed you! Here’s hoping everyone can make it next year!

Seacrest Beach 2012 (Part 1)

We just got back from our family beach trip. It started out a little rainy, we were missing a sister, and I got pretty sick, but all in all, it was a great trip!

Here are some highlights from the house.

Sam played with Legos so much. As in, maybe 5 or 6 hours a day. It was insane and he is, in my humble opinion, a mechanical genius. He got a set that makes an airplane, a helicopter, and a speedboat. Here he is in action.SAM_6260   SAM_6279

Awesome tracks were built. TV was watched while we snuggled on the couches.

I lounged around, and grew,…especially after I got sick.

We swung on the swings and played in the pool (which I did not get any pictures of!).

Oh, and of course, we ate lots of good food (these donuts are from Charlie’s Donut truck – yum!)

Stay tuned for Part 2, where we head for the beach!

*Apparently I got very few pictures of the girls on this trip. Sorry Mom & Laura.

A Picture Heavy Post for Cuteness Documentation Purposes

It's true, the more children there are, the more difficult it is to get pictures of them.

This is my feeble attempt to push back against that.

Sam: 4 1/2
Grey: 3 3/4,  2 3/4  Can I blame that on pregnancy brain?
Bo: 18 months
Baby Girl (not pictured): 20 weeks gestational age ;)

So cool...too cool to even look at the camera most of the time.

So handsome too.

Melt my heart, sweet kid.

This one loves to pose for the camera...

and give "loves."

Dumping loads every where he goes.

Happy kid...

with a touch of attitude.

Wearing small glasses and conquering playhouses.

Also, conquering little brothers.

Another Quick Little Trip to Colorado

I just got back from a trip to Denver, CO to visit my youngest sister, Julie, see where she's been working and living, and hang out with her and Laura, my middle sis. We had a blast!

We ate some delicious food (true chunks united), hiked in Estes Park (where it was incredibly windy), relaxed, laughed, slept until we woke up, and watched quite a bit of Downton Abby.

Sisters.

Laura and I making sure we've got sure-footing.

There we go.
At one of our delicious breakfasts.

It was so nice to spend some time with my sisters, spend some time in beautiful Colorado AND have a little time off from responsbility. It's also nice to really, really miss your family. Know what I mean?

Bob, Ebee & Poppa, thanks for making it possible for me to go! Pop-Pop and Nana, thanks so much for the delicious Easter dinner right when I got back - what a sweet deal!

Laura, thanks for coordinating and making the trip! Julie, thanks for hosting us and showing us Denver!
