Answering the Cry

That's what I'm doing for about 30% of my day.

And now, I'm answering the cry for another blog post. Yes, it's been a while. No, not a whole lot of quote unquote blogworthy things have been going on. But, since you Bob, Mom and Dad all are asking for it, here's new post. Brace yourself.

I'm the mom equivalent of a sportscaster. Sam is constantly asking, "hey whatchu doin', Mommy?", "where we going?", "what is it beeee?", or my favorite and the ever enthusiastic, "WHAT'S THAT?!"
I have become whatever the word is for just a little less than obsessed about this stuff:

I've been "test-driving" Google reader for the last month or so. I don't think I like it. There, I said it...err, typed it. Anyway, it gets so clogged up that before I know it, I've got 439 unread posts and I'm just skimming through the title to read the ones from people I'm really interested in reading. I think I may have just decided to ditch it. Right here folks, you're reading about history being made.

I still don't have a maid. No biggie. That just means there are still chunks of food found regularly on my dining room floor. No, I do not clean the floor after every meal and with a 2 year-old, that's just how it is. Maybe a 2 year-old girl would be different, but I'm gonna bet there are quite a few out there who are just as crazy as Sam. Maybe? Please tell me I'm not the only one and if I am, if you do clean your floor after every meal (ahem, Lauren), just don't tell me. You probably hang up all your clothes as soon as the dryer finishes too.

Moving right along.

Grey's almost 6 months, which, let me help y'all out here, means he's almost closer to being 1 than he is to not even being here! It's funny how much he wants to be around us and how go-with-the-flow he is. We are truly blessed.

And just they're on my mind, here are a couple things coming up that I'm super excited about.
Bob and I are going away soon for 3 nights. THREE NIGHTS! Unbelievable.
Sometime in the next couple of months, we're going to the High Museum to see this. Very cool Christmas present from my sis.
And, for good measure...

I assure you that there are many times I feel like I am raising a little boy. Shiloh is a climber, daredevil, nonstop ball of energy, and she LOVES mud! And to top it off she has the attitude of a 13 year old girl.

I don't have any trace of food on my floor. Ever. And it's not because Eli doesn't drop stuff (and definitely not because I'm on top of cleaning it). This is when it's really nice to have a dog. Of course, the trade-off is the dog hair that I get to sweep off the floor instead...

Of course I clean the floor after every meal. It's called "letting the dog into the kitchen." ;)

Seriously. You should look into this. The only mess on our floor is yard trash that we track inside - Truett makes short work of everything else.

Averi asks all those same questions like 100 times a day too:) I guess there just curious but it can be annoying at times...

Cleaning our floors (we have no carpet downstairs) consists of this: let the two dogs in to eat all the food that Liam drops on the floor or I drop while cooking and kicking any large pieces of dirt (leaves and such) out of Liam's reach in the enclosed play area in the kitchen. The floors downstairs may see the vacuum twice a week. You don't want to know how often it sees a mop. Does that make me a bad mom? :-/

PS. I am shocked that you don't like google reader. I couldn't live without it. Once you clear out all the previously read items, maybe it will be "cleaner" for you. I hope so. However, you may have already done that...so no pressure to love it. It's just saved me so much time!

clean the floors? hmmm.. lets see.. I've had to get on my hands and knees to clean something (that I could not identify) because it stayed on the floor so long and wouldn't just come up when I finally got around to mopping.

Just a word of encouragement...Keep answering those questions from Sam because before long he will be a teenager and because you were attentive and interacted with him, he will feel comfortable asking you more important questions. What a terrific payoff! Love, Ebee
