A Project?! Who's Got Time for Projects?

A Christmas Card Frame project to be specific.

While I don't necessarily have time for a project (which is probably why it took me a couple of weeks to actually make this happen after I saw it in a Pottery Barn magazine), I really liked the idea and was not about to pay $149 for it.

Want to do one of your own? It's super simple!

I...

-Went to the thrift store and bought a frame that was the size I wanted, expecting to spray paint it. I paid less than $5 for the frame. Some would say I still overpaid...

-Used these tools.

In order of appearance, scissors, tiny wooden clothespins (found at Walmart), a staple gun, and beading wire (also found at Walmart, or any craft store).

-Took the sweet mat and print, along with the glass, out of the frame. Anybody interested in that? Anybody, anybody? Ha.

- Used beading wire and a staple gun to make 5 rows on which to hang Christmas cards. (I made the top row pretty close to the frame since I'm hanging each card from it's top side).

- Finished off the wire rows by looping the wire around the last staple. (Actually this is how I started also).

And here is the finished project. Well it's not exactly finished because we're still getting cards!

(Oh, I decided not to spray paint it because I thought the gold was pretty festive. Also, Bob's vote was not to spray paint).

I love getting Christmas cards and sending them too! If you don't get one from us and would like one, feel free to email me your mailing address. And if you are just dying to send us one to be so beautifully displayed on my new Christmas Card Frame, we'd love to receive it!

Love it! This has been in the back of my mind to do this year---I even bought the tiny clothes pins and some ribbon--but, alas, its Dec 22nd and I STILL have not made one.
Meanwhile, the Christmas cards are taking over the fridge...
