Yet Another Example of Our Stellar Parenting

This morning, we were getting ready to go to church. Bob and I were sitting on the couch while Sam played for a few minutes.

He (Sam) had been in the dining room before he walked into the living room...

wielding a steak knife.

Thankfully he was holding it by the handle. And thankfully he was bringing it to us.

The only thing we can figure out is that he climbed up in a chair and got it off the table.

Lesson learned.

You're very daring!! Similar things have happened to us, but I don't have the, uh. . . let's say GUTS to blog about them. But rest assured, you're no worse than the rest of us!

Maybe Sam is going to be a chef. He was trying to show off his culinary skills.

Oh, I think I watch too much Food Network.

I understand! God certainly protects them! I've caught Savannah on one too many occasions right before a big accident! Last time, she had one of my razor's in her mouth (My gym bag was on the floor and had been left open).

We caught Mac playing with a pocket knife last week. The pocket knife had a "child-proof safety," but somehow he had gotten it open anyway. I really think my heart stopped beating for a few seconds. Glad nothing happened to Sam!!

So glad the little guy didn't get hurt! Niecey has a talent for getting into what she shouldn't too, just when we thought we had everything baby-proofed she would prove us wrong. So glad she is kinda growing out of this stuff, proof that it gets better.

Great job! You've trained him to rat himself out. ;)

Isn't it amazing the crap they can get into? Anja's favorite thing is to find tissue paper or Kleenex, rip it to shreds and then start eating it. I've caught her in the act several times, and hopefully she's only eaten small pieces...

oh i f I could tell you how many Jehovah-Jirah moments we've had like that. The knife too. God is so gracious to protect. and then to scare the living H-E-L-L out of us to move things around a bit. But rest assured..as soon as you hide the knives..Sam will find something else. Its not bad parenting. Its just curious children.

Its bad parenting if you ask him to show you some tricks with his new friend.. lol.

Oh, I bet that was a huge surprise! My mom said she felt like she deserved the parent-of-the-year award when she accidentally locked my brother and I in the car - with it running! oops!

Thanks for letting me post about our run in today! I still can't believe it!
