Big Window

There's something I'm curious about.

Why are service techs late 99.9% of the time? And if they aren't late, sometimes they don't even show. A no-show with no call!!!

I'm talking AC techs today but please include DISH network techs, AT&T techs and basically any other tech who has to come to your house within the large time window of 8 a.m. - 12 p.m., 12 p.m. - 5 p.m. or sometimes even 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.

I've been waiting on the AC guy since 8 and he was supposed to be here by noon. That was 2 hours ago. Bob called a little after noon and was told that our tech had been dispatched and should arrive within a half an hour. He just called again and was told the tech got held up somewhere and it may be a few hours.

Seriously?

Why can't people do what they say they're going to do. If something comes up, an "emergency", just.call.

I have errands I need to run that I was planning on doing when Sam got up (not to mention I have to go to the grocery store for dinner) and now I may be stuck waiting for this guy for most of the afternoon.

I'm complaining. I shouldn't. I should just be thankful that we have air conditioning.

But right now, I'm just irritated.

Two weeks ago I spent half of my week waiting for a guy to show up to give me an estimate on our yard. He didn't come two days in a row. Talk about going crazy!

In the end, we didn't use him - someone else got our business.

I totally feel you and echo your complaints. I think it's doubly hard for stay-at-home-moms who live their lives catering to someone else's schedule. Those cute little bundles of joy are worth it over and over again, but an AC tech...um, not so much :)

I hope he gets there soon. If not, I am sure PB & J sandwiches would be great for supper :)

Unfortunately, I've had way too much experience with ac techs lately. Ours just died (like NO ac and they are installing a new one tomorrow - fun, right?), and before it died, we had numerous almost die moments. Anyways, I love the people we called if you ever need someone again. They are always out here when they say they will be.

we had to get a water pump system put under our house a year ago, and when the team was about 2 hours late coming, I decided to go run an errand while daniel stayed home to wait some more. i saw their truck parked at the front of the neighborhood, so i rolled down my window to ask if they needed directions to the house. they were like "no, we're heading that way in a minute." they were eating take-out breakfast! i was like "ummm what kind of person stops for fast food when you're already two hours late?"
