So, Today is My Due Date

Today marks the day that I really get to start shocking people.

When asked, "how much longer do you have?" or "when are you due?!", my answer will now be "Today..." or "I was due Tuesday." That always seems to throw people for a loop.

Honestly, I'm ok with going past my due date. Been there and done it with Sam. I will say this though, if I go 13 days past due with this one, I will not be ok with it. The other two boys are keeping me quite busy and distracted, I'm not too miserably uncomfortable, although my hips have really started hurting and, of course, sleep gets more and more elusive each night. There's also the expecting to go into labor each night, waking up and it not having happened, then expecting to go into labor during the day and going to bed, yet another night, still pregnant.

I'm just doing my best to be patient. I know the Lord has the perfect day and time already picked out for this little guy's arrival. There are a few good reasons why it's nice that he hasn't come in the last couple days - the main one being that my kids have been a little under the weather and I've been fighting it too. I'd rather have all my energy for labor, ya know?!

So, there you have it. My EDD (estimated due date) post. Due dates are funny things and it's amusing to me how much stock people put in them. There's no tried and true way to know when you conceived and even then, not every baby wants to stay put for the exact same amount of time.

And, since 4 people have now asked me, no, I do not plan on being induced. In fact, I'll do everything I can not to be. I'm hoping for another un-medicated birth and I don't want to deal with pitocin if I don't have to. Surely, I've got another week or so before my even starts talking about it.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I had a dream about you last night, or I guess it was more about the baby. Richard logged onto Facebook and you had delivered the baby and posted pictures of him. In my dream he was born with shaggy, shoulder length, brown hair and his name was Laines. And I remember thinking, well, his name fits the way he looks. And then the dream was over. I have no idea...
Anyway. I hope you have a fast, easy delivery soon :)

I'm praying for you, too! I went ONE day over my due date, and was VERY impatient. I commend you for trusting the Lord for this baby's birthday :)

So, what you're saying is that a long walk pushing a double jogger will NOT put you into labor??? :)
He'll come when he's ready...I can't wait to read another amazing birth story!

i've been late with both babies so far, and ended up being induced both times for mild health concerns. this time, i am absolutely not anxious to have an early delivery. i need all the time in between 2 and 3 I can get! which, of course, means i'll probably deliver at 36 weeks. blah. good luck! it's fun to watch folks reaction when you're "past-due"
