Yes, We Were Trying

Seriously, who doesn't want to ask? I always do!

I've been holding off posting about our fourth baby because I wanted to start my pregnancy pics with that particular post. Know what I've realized? During the day, my appearance is usually not something I want to document. So here we are, the post without a picture. I'll get right on that picture thing.

We are so excited about this fourth baby. I'm 14 weeks along and we feel extremely blessed to have, so far, another healthy pregnancy. I've felt pretty good, in fact, more recently I've had just a touch of nausea, and before that, just the normal bone-crushing exhaustion during the early afternoon. It usually fell right before nap time so I've been doing a lot of persevering...just hanging on for another 30 minutes to an hour until the little ones are asleep and Sam is resting. Speaking of which, I should be trying to take a nap right now!

(And so I don't forget, when we told the kids, Grey was really excited, still is, Bo loves babies so I'll count that as him being excited, and Sam said, "I told you not to GET another baby!" He has since come around.)

Anyway, up until Monday, Bob seemed pretty set on not finding out the gender of this baby until he/she comes out. Now, he's swaying. Feel free to weigh in with your opinion in the comments ;), everyone has one and he has asked. I don't really know how I feel about it. I had gotten used to the idea of not knowing. (For the record, we did not find out with Sam but did find out with Grey and Bo.)

We shall see...

Current stats:
Due date - October 10th
Gender - unknown
Weight gain - 1 or 2 lbs (however I did gorge myself in Colorado recently :)!)
Differences between this and other pregnancies - With the other ones, I had NO appetite during the first trimester...not the case this time.
I had a little bit of nausea with the other ones, very little this time and no throwing up (yay!)
So far, that's all I can come up with. Oh besides the fact that I already look like I'm 5 months pregnant. Isn't that fun?! Ha.

Congratulations! I'd say that if you are really wanting another boy/hoping for a girl then find out! We have a friend that really wanted a girl for their 3rd knowing it would probably be their last. They didn't find out and she had a 3rd boy, she was a bit disappointed for a few moments, but of course excited to have her sweet baby in her arms. Either way, if you think you may find any disappointment in finding out the baby is a certain gender find out now so you have time to let it sink in! I love having my boys, as I am sure you are, and would be happy with either, so I'm sure you won't have that dilemma, right??? Either way, how exciting to have a full and happy home!!!

Congratulations, again!!!
Find out, find out, find out! I can't handle the anticipation (and, it's all about me, right?!?).
And, for the record, I just commented on your CO post saying that there's NO WAY you look like you have a baby in your belly! 5 months? psh!
SO happy for y'all!

Yay!! So exciting! I would say find out just so you can plan and prepare. I would like getting the clothes ready and nursery ready and letting it truly sink in... girl or boy. But it's not about me. Ha! So happy for ya'll!!

Ok, first of all, stop it. You are the thinnest I can EVER remember seeing you. So stop the "five months pregnant" baloney! And I do mean baloney - not bologna! =)
Secondly, I am beyond excited for you guys! So glad to hear you were trying for this little nugget. It's absolutely wonderful to come from a "house full" size family. I'm so happy for you guys and the boys!
I'm sure the thought of having a girl (and maybe a little bitty bit of hope?) has come to mind. If you think you might be a little disappointed if it's another boy, then I think I would suggest finding out ahead of time. Who wants to feel that way right after giving birth to a healthy baby?! If you really don't think you'll be disappointed either way then a surprise might be fun! And how crazy exciting would it be if you don't find out and it IS a girl?! I can just picture Bob running into the waiting room yelling, "It's a girl!!!". How fun!
I'm so glad to hear you're feeling pretty good. Any heartburn? I would guess boy if you have. The old wives tale about the baby having hair if you have heartburn is a bunch of blahblahblah. I think it's more hormonal. I lived on Tums with Deacon who was born bald as an egg. I had almost no heartburn with Harper and she's got a head full of hair!
Ok, enough of the 3700-word comment. I so wish we could be there to celebrate with you guys in person! Love you and miss you so!

Congrats again!!

I'm a gender-finding-outer advocate, but since that's the only way we've ever done it, I should think my opinion doesn't count.

Congrats, Greta! You are so beautiful pregnant! I'm putting in my vote for finding out...I mean, if it's a boy, then you can rest and relax, and if it's a girl, you'll have more time to spend getting excited and getting ready (not that you wouldn't be excited if it's a boy) but you know what I mean ;-)

You in no way look 5 months pregnant. You look amazing! And you already know my opinion, but I'll say it again. Please find out! :)

I think we should try more often!

First of all, that last comment is cracking me up. Bob?
At least I hope so. Oh, my, that's hilarious.

Secondly, I go back and forth about finding out. I'm pretty confident that if we were in your position, we wouldn't find out...I don't think we ever will...but I can also understand why you would want to. So don't listen to me.

And you look FAR less pregnant at 14 weeks than I do 9 weeks postpartum. You look amazing!

I vote for not finding out. You guys are going to be delighted either way. You could make a sandwich, Sam and Baby #4 you don't find out and the two in the middle you did. Always comes back around to food! Love, Ebee
